GeneralAire Humidifier - Find Out If It Is Right For You And Your Family

The air in a given space is always trying to reach its saturation point. To achieve this it absorbs all the water in the surrounding atmosphere. The result is loss of moisture for you, your family, pets, furniture and even the plants in your home. This leads to cracked and dry skin, splitting of your furniture, upper respiratory malfunctions and so on. This is where a humidifier helps you. It is a must in cold countries where indoor heating is prevalent.

GeneralAire has developed several different types of humidifiers to service their customers. Their categories include Elite Steam Humidifiers, Elite Flow Through Humidifiers and Legacy Humidifiers.

Elite Steam Humidifiers – When moisture evaporates from your body, the surface of the skin cools and you tend to feel cooler. The controlled humidity from GeneralAire’s Elite Steam Humidifier gives you a warmer fell at a lower temperature, thus helping you save on your heating bill. Under this category you will find three different varieties of humidifiers – Duct Mount, Remote Blower and Room Steam Humidifiers.

To get an idea you can take a look at the features of Model DS 50 Steam Humidifier under the Duct Mount category. It has an integrated smart monitoring drain pump assembly and a self contained immersed electrode design. The cylinder is disposable and generates steam. There is a system that checks for high water levels or foam. The integrated AHU fan provides you with on demand humidification. A LCD display with a numerical and icon driven menu. The pure sterile steam delivers superior quality indoor air.

Elite Flow Through Humidifiers – Included in this variety are Fan Powered Humidifiers and Bypass Humidifiers. One of the machines under the Fan Powered units is Model 100XM. It mounts on the furnace distribution system and the integral fan pulls heated air from the furnace and draws that air across a highly evaporative VaporPad.  At this point the humidity gets absorbed into the air and is distributed into the home. There is a state of the art M3 Select Control Manual Humidistat. This humidifier mounts on a warm air plenum and delivers 18 GPD.

Model 900 belonging to the Bypass variety incorporates an integral humidity control damper that allows the air to pass through a very efficient VaporPad where moisture is absorbed into the heating system. This unit is perfect for average sized homes and delivers 17 GPD. The E2 Automatic Digital Humidistat lets you choose between an automatic or manual mode and has an outdoor sensor for temperature compensation.

Legacy Humidifiers – Here we have Fan Power Flow Through, Bypass Flow Through, Drum and Plate Humidifiers. Model 1137 from the Fan Power Flow Through variety makes a portion of the heated air from the furnace to pass through a water soaked pad where it absorbs moisture and then returns it throughout the home. The Water is metered into the KineticFlo Trough and distributed evenly across the pad. The unevaporated water drains from the bottom of the unit to eliminate mineral build up. The E1 Temperature Compensating Humidistat is included and the model delivers 21.3 GPD.

As you can see there are numerous choices which give you a lot of options. But make sure you take into account your needs, the size of you home and your budget and make a decision that is best for you and your family.
